Department: Academy Medical Department
Location: BRFC Academy, however flexibility on location may be required.
Reports to: Head of Sports Science and Medicine
Responsible for: N/A
Hours of work: 30 hours per week, plus any additional hours necessary for the performance of duties. This may include evening and weekend work.
Contractual status: Seasonal Internship – 2019/2020
1. Job purpose: To undertake Sports Science and Strength and Conditioning duties on behalf of the Academy. This may include working matches and clinics agreed by the Sports Science and Medical department.
2. Duties and responsibilities:
 To assist and liaise with all staff in the day to day running of the department;
 To collect and analyse training loads;
 To deliver and assist in conditioning programs to all age groups;
 To lead and assist in fitness testing of all academy players;
 Hydration testing when required;
 Maintenance of Gym Environment;
 Support Science Staff with delivery of relevant CPD / Sessions to external organisation’s;
 To attend other relevant courses/workshops as required from time to time;
 To attend all meetings and in-service training relevant to your position as required;
 To update knowledge of and be familiar with the standard of skills required for Sports Science and conditioning of Academy players at regular intervals; and
 To submit any paperwork regarding duties on the required monthly deadline.

4. Knowledge required:
 Experience of Elite Sporting Environment;
 Sports Science and Pediatric Athletes; and
 Good knowledge of Safeguarding/child protection policies and procedures.
5. Qualifications required:
 Sports Science Degree or Equivalent (Essential); and
 UKSCA or working towards (Desirable).
