Roles and responsibilities

•To monitor and keep up-to-date certificates, licenses and qualifications, administered by the FA, to enable AITC to deliver coaching at the highest standard.
•To deliver high quality football and multi-sport coaching, enabling individuals to develop according to their abilities and encouraging them to sustain activity levels.
•To support the development of coaching resources as required.
•To liaise with staff, partners and participants when required to maintain first class working relationships.
•To guide and encourage participants to make appropriate decisions about further participation in sport at a level appropriate to their ability.
•To identify the needs of individual groups and tailor your delivery as appropriate.
•To provide practical assistance to young leaders, other coaches and volunteers.
•To adhere to safeguarding guidelines, including undertaking risk assessments and reporting any incidents/ accidents to your Line Manager immediately.
•To create a highly professional environment for each session; which both represents AITC and demonstrates high levels of customer service and engagement.
•To keep up to date registers for all activities and add details to the Charity’s database (Substance Views) on a regular basis.
•To act as an ambassador for Albion in the Community and Brighton & Hove Albion FC at all times.
•To cross promote AITC programmes that will assist with business development and secure new contracts.
•To attend training courses and continuing professional development sessions when required.

General duties and accountabilities

•To support Brighton & Hove Albion FC and AITC in their aims and objectives at all times.
•To ensure compliance with all relevant club policies, including health and safety policies.
•To ensure compliance with all relevant legal, regulatory, ethical and social requirements.
•To keep confidential any information gained regarding the charity, club and its personnel.
•To represent Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and AITC in a professional manner.
•To maintain a flexible approach to work at all times.
•To undertake other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time.

Qualifications & Experience
Essential

•FA Level 1 Coaching in Football Qualification
•Member of the FA Licensed Coaches’ Club
•Valid and accepted enhanced FA DBS CRC (Criminal Background Check) or be willing to undertake this check if successful
•Valid FA Emergency Aid Certificate
•Valid FA Safeguarding Children Certificate
•Experience of planning and delivering coaching sessions in football or multi-sport
•Knowledge and understanding of child protection issues
•Experience working with or in schools, colleges and youth groups
•A dynamic coach, with excellent communication skills
•Ability to relate effectively with the 4-18 age groups
•Ability to adapt coaching sessions to appropriate age groups
•A genuine team player
•Act as a role model with behaviour consistent with the vision of Albion in the Community
•Flexible and positive attitude
•A clear drive to raise the quality of coaching delivered throughout Sussex
•A strong motivator, with high enthusiasm
•Ability to work unsupervised
•Willingness to learn
•Creative thinker to deliver exciting and fun coaching sessions

Desirable

•FA Level 2 or 3 Coaching in Football Qualification
•Qualifications in coaching/delivering multi-sports
•Level 3 Certificate in Supporting the Delivery of PE & School Sport
•Qualifications or training within Disability sports (i.e. FA Coaching Disabled footballer course)
•Experience of working with young people with additional needs
•Experience and knowledge of working with Disabled participants and within Disability sports
•Experience of working with a variety of young people
•Own transport
•Full valid UK driving license
