– Job Role : Media Assistant
Reporting to the Press Officer, this role will be responsible for the production and delivery of the Club’s editorial content via digital and social media channels.
Interviewing first team players and coaching staff and producing high quality and engaging articles for the club website and our award winning matchday programme.
Reporting on our U18s and U19s youth sides, including interviews, previews and match reports.
Proofread copy to ensure it is publication ready.
Produce match previews and various other articles for all media channels.
You will assist with our extensive matchday coverage, including writing live match reports.
You will be tasked with generating interesting and innovative content.
Help promote the Gateshead FC brand and extend the fan base reach while also communicating with the existing fan base.
Skills and experience required:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience of working to deliver web content.
Proficient editorial skills.
Knowledge of media channels and best industry practice.
Journalism experience is essential, preferably in sport.
Football knowledge is essential and a familiarity with Gateshead Football Club is desired.
Proficiency with cameras, video editing and graphic design is preferred but not essential.
You must be studying towards or have completed a journalism related qualification.
