Saints Foundation is an independent charity aligned to Southampton Football Club. Harnessing the passion of the Club and its fans we aim to inspire, support and deliver positive change and equality of opportunity for young people and adults at risk across Southampton and surrounding areas.

What is the role?

We are currently recruiting for 2x Assistant Project Officers to join our growing team within the Saints Foundation, who share a passion for promoting health and wellbeing and working with hard to reach groups.

Within this role, you will assist, plan and deliver existing and future Health & Wellbeing sessions and related activities. This includes supporting, monitoring and evaluating programmes to ensure they meet the requirements of the funding partners. Within each session, you will lead and assist the delivery of recommendation-based projects to target audiences This consists of initiating a series of intervention measures that aims to reduce social-isolation, while improving self-efficacy, physical health and general wellbeing.

What are we looking for?

We are looking for a candidate who shares a passion for promoting health and wellbeing and has a keen interest in community engagement projects in the local area. The successful candidate will need to be highly organised and have strong time management skills to ensure the programme runs smoothly. The individual will also need to have strong communication skills and be creatively minded in order to engage participants.

The competencies which are required include:

Essential Experience:

Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the industry sector or degree level qualification.
A knowledge of M&E programmes relevant to the industry sector.
Experience of delivering health intervention projects with the client group.
A strong knowledge of community engagement programmes specifically tailored to the provision of specialist health and wellbeing interventions.
Desirable Experience:

Knowledge of PLCF and PLPFA funded projects.
Experience of developing and working in partnership with local organisations.
Essential Qualifications (including certifications):

Minimum level 2 REPs recognised health and fitness qualification.
Essential Skills:

Good communication and organisation skills.
Confident and outgoing personality.
Positive Attitude.
Ability to create and develop partnerships for key stakeholders.
Desirable Skills:

Ability to engage with hard to reach groups.
The ability to influence and persuade in written and verbal communications.
Have a good understanding of the key Health & Wellbeing services in Southampton and be able to attract and engage with delivery partners.
