Stoke City Football Club of the English Football League are looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic full time Strength and Conditioning Coach to lead the Strength and Conditioning department to improve performance and reduce injury through developing, implementing and evaluating strength and conditioning programmes that reflect scientific principles.

As a Strength and Conditioning Coach you will be required to deliver individual and group strength and conditioning sessions to all Academy players with a particular focus on the PDP (U23s) as well as some YDP age groups. Therefore, a full understanding of key physiological areas of long term player development, and athletic development within an elite sporting environment is required.

The role will require the participant to work within a multi disciplinarily team and therefore the ability to support on-field conditioning and rehabilitation in conjunction with medical staff will be a requirement. You will also be required to provide strength and conditioning support at necessary tournaments and attend national and regional meetings and workshops, training courses as appropriate.

Reporting to the Head of Academy Sports Science & Athletic Development, the ideal candidate will have worked within the elite sporting environment for a minimum of 2-3 year, be UKSCA Accredited or able to show evidence of completion within 6 months, and hold a relevant degree/higher degree in Strength and Conditioning/Sports Science.

Significant previous experience in the provision of strength and conditioning services to young elite athletes is essential as well as having extensive understanding of developing athletic qualities that provide young soccer players with the physical abilities to play at an elite level is key.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator who is able to deliver specific information not only to young players but also to coaching staff as well.
